British Airways raise their fuel surcharge.

SmartWings, a Czech low-cost airline, will from the middle of May, begin operating a weekly flight to Dubai, from their base in Budapest.

British Airways has announced that they will raise their fuel surcharge on long and short haul flights. Due to continuing high oil prices, long-haul flights longer than nine hours, will have a surcharge of £ 15 (ca. € 20) one-way, adding up to an overall surcharge of £ 158 (ca. £ 215) for a return fare. Long-haul flights shorter than nine hours will have an extra surcharge of £ 10 per way, adding up to a total of £ 126 (ca. € 170) on returns. Short-haul flights will see a more-surcharge of £ 3 each way, resulting in a total surcharge of £ 26 (ca. € 35) for return fares.Starting on September 29, easyJet will launch a new route from Manchester to Alicante in Spain. The route will be operated four times weekly, with one-way tickets available from £ 27.99 (ca. € 38), including taxes.

Wizz Air will from July 11 be the first ever low-cost airline to launch a base in Ukraine. From the base in Kiev, routes will be launched to Kharkov, Lviv, Odessa, Simferopol and Zaporozhye. They will also launch flights from Simferopol to Lviv and Kharkov.
