Lufthansa has launched a sale on flights between the UK and Germany. One-ways are on sale from £ 39 (ca. € 53) and returns from £ 79 (ca. 107). Outbound travel must be completed by July 31. Book by March 31.
Ryanair are ready to launch a couple of handfuls of new routes from Edinburgh. From June, a twice weekly service will launch to Dusseldorf, while 11 others will follow in September:
Berlin - four times weekly, Billund - three times weekly, Bournemouth - 13 times weekly, Bratislava - four times weekly, Krakow - three times weekly, Lodz - two times weekly, Malaga - four times weekly, Palma - three times weekly, Poznan - three times weekly, Stockholm - four times weekly and Wroclaw - two times weekly.
Eastern Airways will from April 7 increase the frequency on their route between London Stansted and Manchester. They will change the frequency from three flights in each direction on weekdays to four.
Virgin Atlantic is offering discounted seats to the US. Destinations all over the US are available, incl. Boston, Miami and San Francisco. Prices change depending on the travel period, but start from £ 286 (ca. € 386) on returns, including both taxes and charges. Outbound travel is available until June 30. Book by March 12.
Austrian will the month the month of April launch a thrice weekly route between Vienna and Irbil in the northern Iraq. Two routes will be closed at the same time - between Vienna and both Amman in Jordan and Beirut in Lebanon.
Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch a new route to Corfu from Oslo International Airport on June 13. The route will be operated weekly.
American Airlines has announced that they from April 13, will move all their services between the US and London, from Gatwick to Heathrow.
Aer Lingus has doubled its number of routes from four to eight from their base at Belfast Airport. The four new routes have started flying to Budapest, Faro, Malaga and Rome. The two services to Malaga and Rome are being operated Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, while the Budapest and Faro routes are operated on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Furthermore routes to Paris and Nice are planned to begin around the end of March. Germanwings has planned a new route to Reykjavik for the new summer schedule. The route will be operated twice weekly from their base at Cologne-Bonn. The route will depart on June 4. Cimber Air will open a new route on March 30, between Norrköping and Helsingfors in Sweden. In other news, they have planned to add an extra daily departure on the route between Copenhagen and Newcastle. That too will happen on March 30.
Blue 1 has put its new Scandinavian routes on sale. Routes are on sale from £ 29 (ca. € 40), one-way including taxes. The four new routes are between Helsinki and London Heathrow, between Oslo and Bristol, both starting March 30, between Stockholm and Bristol, starting June 27, and between Stockholm and Edinburgh, starting April 3. Children between age 2 and 15 get 33 per cent off on all fares.
Monarch has put return fares on offer with up to £ 30 (ca € 40) discount on travel in March and April. Destinations as Barcelona, Malaga and Murcia are available on flights from London Gatwick and Luton, Birmingham and Manchester airports. Book by midnight on Tuesday, February 26.
Starting this summer, bmibaby will launch two new routes from Manchester Airport. On June 16, the first route will take off to Madrid, being operated Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On June 17, the route to Lisbon will depart. The route will be operated Tuesday and Sunday. Both routes are available from £ 24.99 (ca. € 34) one-way.
From March 28 a new route between Copenhagen and Gothenburg will be launched by Sterling. The route will be operated twice daily on weekdays, and once per day in weekends.
British Airways will raise the fuel surcharge on long and medium-haul flights. On flights longer than nine hours, surcharge will rise to £6 (ca. €8) per way, bringing the overall charge to £ 128 (ca. € 172) for a return. Medium-haul flights of less than nine hours will increase by £5 (ca. € 7) each way, adding up to £ 106 (ca. €143) in total.
KLM is having a global destinations sale, where return flights, including taxes, are available from £ 78.90 (ca. € 107). Destinations available for booking include nice cities as Amsterdam, Dubai and Honk Kong. A minimum stay of 7 days and a maximum of a month apply, except Amsterdam, where the minimum is two days. Book by midnight on Monday, February 25.
Blue Air, the Romanian low-cost airline is ready to launch a new flight to Larnaca, Cyprus, from their base in the Bucharest Baneasa Airport. The route will be launched on March 30, and will be operated three times weekly.
As mentioned before, Ryanairs website is closed between the 22nd and 25th of February. To make up for lost time, and celebrate being back online, Ryanair has promised a million seats released by Tuesday morning, available for 1 penny, including taxes and charges.
