In these days of crisis everybody could do with a good bargain. Luckily the world’s largest travel community, TripAdvisor, has just published their Traveler’s Choice 2009, which lists the 100 best hotel bargains according to the users.
TripsAdvisor’s 10 million members can’t be wrong and at Momondo we have decided to take a look at the world’s 5 best hotel bargains.
Fruit carpaccio to die for

The best bargain you’ll get at Hotel Vecchio Asilo in Italy’s for ever popular Tuscany region. The hotel’s setting is beautiful, the rooms are clean and the host Guido is extremely friendly and helpful, but the one thing that puts Hotel Asilo ahead of all rivals, is the breakfast. In a country where breakfast usually consists of an espresso and some dry crackers Guido serves a spectacular and mouthwatering breakfast. Especially his fresh fruit carpaccio is to die for.
How can YOU not stay here?

Second on the list is the Arcadia Residence a short walk from the old square in another of the world’s great tourist destinations ......Prague. The hotel is according to Michael from Toronto "Just an amazing bargain". It is beautiful decorated (a touch of art nouveau), has spacious well equipped rooms and the breakfast arrives at the allotted time. The host, Pasquale, is according to an TripAdvisor user "....simply the most lovely man. How can YOU not stay here?"
Feel the sea breeze

Spotless clean rooms, friendly staff, fresh sea air and close to great restaurants. The SeaCoast Inn is just “A terrific gem of a place” as one puts. The hotel in Hyannis, Massachusetts is number three on TripAdvisor’s list of the best hotel bargains. The hotel is located within a few minutes walk of both the main Street and harbour where ferries go to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.
Absolutely beautiful, but...

Rooftop terrace at the Riad Zolah
The nomination of Riad Zolah in Marrakesh as number four on the list of best bargains might sparkle controversy among some of TripAdvisors users. While almost everyone agrees on that the hotel - situated in the heart of the medina - has a stunning interior; some find it unorganized, overpriced and worst of all, the hotel’s restaurant serves ridiciously small portions of couscous.
However the overall picture of Riad Zolah among TripsAdvisor’s members is that the hotel has an extremely friendly and welcoming staff “They'll treat you royally!”, as one guest puts it. The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from main square (Jma El Fna) and it is unbelievable romantic. A guest enjoyed a dinner at the hotel, which was as “dreamy and romantic as I could have hoped for” and another recommends the room with a fireplace as the perfect place to stay for a honeymoon.
Worth the 16 hour flight

If you live on the northern hemisphere and summer seems light years away you should consider spoiling yourself with a trip to Cape Town and stay at the Derwent House Boutique Hotel, which is no. five on TripAdvisors list on the best hotel bargains. The Hotel has a fantastic location beneath the Table Mountain and is located within a walking distance of all the sites in Cape Town. All guests seem to agree on that the hosts, Carol and Jo, and their staff, are fantastic. According to one guest the service is “..better than in any 5 star hotel we’ve ever stayed in”. Derwent House Boutique Hotel and Cape Town might be far from home but it is “worth the 16 hour flight”, as a traveller from Shanghai puts it. Who can resist that!
