Many visitors to New York hunt out dim sum in Chinatown or cannoli in Little Italy, but fewer make it up to this tiny, food-obsessed neighbourhood. Korean Town (K-Town, to those in the know), is the best place in Manhattan to find authentic Korean cuisine.

While most of NYC's growing Korean-American population live in the outer boroughs (Flushing in Queens is another great kimchi spot!), in recent years K-Town has become a hot destination for foodies of all backgrounds. Most of the restaurants in K-Town are crammed into a single block - 32nd Street, between 5th and Broadway.

As if to make up for the lack of space, every floor of every building offers something different. If you look up you'll see adverts for bars, spas, holistic healers and even churches above every karaoke joint and book shop.

But what really draws the crowds to this part of town is the food. You're spoiled for choice: tabletop barbeques, freshly made dumplings or a steaming bowl of bibimbap? If you're new to Korean food there's plenty of picture menus and plastic models to help you out. Midtown East never looked so appetising.

Yummy!

East Dulwich has generally been considered, well, a little on the dull side. But in the last few years things have started to change. The extended East London line means that Shoreditch and Hoxton are now much easier to access, and gradually coupled-up/knocked-up hipsters have started migrating south, drawn by the amazing parks and allotments and the laidback, community vibe. While many of London's high streets are increasingly boring and corporate (Boots, Pret A Manger, yawn), Lordship Lane (and nearby North Cross Street) is a haven of independent shops, bars and restaurants. Whether you're looking for a frock with history, sweeties with a sense of humour or booze with a conscience, it's worth taking a jaunt south of the river and exploring this lovely lot.

Summer is up and cities across the globe have planted palm trees and trucked in tons of sand to urban waterfronts to create the feeling of a lazy day at the shore. Urban beaches are a hit and Momondo guides you to our favourites.

New York: Life's a Beach

Sweaty metro stations, pungent garbage bags and steaming streets... welcome to summer in NYC! But before you follow the hoards down to the Hamptons, remember that you don't need to escape the city to, erm, escape the city. With more urban beaches than ever opening this summer, New Yorkers in the know will be staying put and sunning themselves Gotham-style. Here's where to join them...

New Yorkers have a dirty little secret. They might like to present themselves as urbane creatures who spend their lives taxi-ing from office to bar to velvet-roped club, but in reality as soon as it's cool enough to venture out of the air-conditioning they are as keen as mustard for some good clean fun in the great outdoors... and if it involves swapping their suits for Speedos, so much the better. Whether we're talking an escape upstate or a white-knuckle ride on the Hudson there's plenty of good times to be had messing about on boats this fall. Below is my guide to the best aquatic thrills the Big Apple can offer.

In the early part of last century, Bloomsbury, with its universities, pubs and publishing houses, was a haven for poets, novelists, artists, political dissidents and, most shocking of all, vegetarians. These days you're more likely to run into scruffy students and academics from UCL, or glossy shoppers looking for a quick retail or caffeine fix in their lunchbreaks. But never fear, the Bohemian spirit lives on in a host of independent local coffee shops, cafeterias and delis, often hidden down quiet, pretty streets. So where's does a starving artiste go to seek their muse (and a decent sandwich) these days? Read on for inspiration.
