Copenhagen's pop music scene is alive and vibrant. Two of the best clubs in town for new and alternative music are Rust at Nørrebro and Copenhagen's all time favourite music venue Vega at Vesterbro. Fans of electronic music should head for Culture Box in the center of town and or book a visit to the city in early June when the nightlife really gets kicking with the Copenhagen Distortion festival or in August for the electronic Strøm festival.
Jazz also has a strong presence in Copenhagen and the best spot to take in a live performance is at the Copenhagen Jazzhouse. In addition, a few other small cosy bars such as La Fontaine and Palæ Bar offer live performances. Each summer the Copenhagen Jazz Festival attracts some of the greatest jazz musicians to Copenhagen.
Fans of classical music will appreciate the Copenhagen Opera, the Royal Danish Academy of Music’s Concert Hall and the Copenhagen Concert Hall,
which offers programs in both classical and rhythm music. Beyond their
beautiful sounds the concert halls are also worth visiting just to take
in their unique and controversial architecture.
